Katie Becher is an Associate in the CMS Pensions Team.

Katie acts for a broad range of trustee, corporate and insurer clients on all aspects of pensions law and regulation. Katie works closely with clients on large projects in financial services, assisting clients with queries and disputes in a commercially-focused way. Katie has developed particular expertise in pensions de-risking, master trusts, corporate transactions and rules consolidation projects.

Relevant experience

A large multi-national company on the transfer of its DC obligations to a master trust managing the legal and communication aspects, contract negotiation and dealing with technical legal issues.
A large insurer on its compliance regime and created a legal tech tool to assist in on-going compliance.
The Trustees of a large DB Scheme on issues relating to historic benefit overpayments and the interaction with GMPe.
Day-to-day contact for a number of defined benefit scheme clients and she deals with all the challenges they face including GMPe, IDRPs and reviewing service contracts.
SIPPs and SSASs and pensions tax issues.
