Keith Barber is a senior associate in the Real Estate Team. He has over 10 years experience in commercial property, advising a wide range of property companies, funds, institutions and investors on acquisitions, disposals, lettings and developments. His transactional experience spans a range of sectors including data centres, living, industrial and logistics and offices/retail. His clients include SEGRO, LendLease, Vantage Data Centers, CBRE, Patrizia, AM Alpha, DTZ Investors, Great Portland Estates, Battersea Power Station and Dolphin Living. 

He was also previously on secondment at Pegasus Life (now part of Lifestory) and gained invaluable experience on the client side working across a large number of developments in the senior living sector.

Relevant experience

Data Centres

  • Vantage Data Centers on the acquisition of a 158 acre former industrial site in Bridgend, South Wales for data centre development as a hyperscaler campus.
  • SEGRO on its purchase of Bath Road Retail Park from Royal London for GBP 120m for data centre redevelopment.

Living

  • Aermont Capital on the formation of its joint venture with Moda Living to launch a GBP 1bn+  PBSA platform in the UK. 
  • DTZ Investors on the acquisition and development of 352 co-living units at Brent Cross Town.
  • AM Alpha on the forward funding of its 220 unit build to rent development of Westminster Works in Birmingham valued at approx. GBP 50m.
  • DTZ Investors on a forward funding of 143 unit PRS scheme at Blossom Street, Manchester for GBP 30m.    
  • Dolphin Living on its acquisition and development of affordable housing units across a number of schemes within Greater London.
  • Urban & Civic plc on various strategic land acquisitions for residential development in Rugby, Corby and Cambridge

Industrial & Logistics

  • SEGRO on the disposal of half of a 30 acre former Nestle factory in Hayes West London to Barratt London (for a development of 1500 units), including complex planning (given heritage elements) and overage provisions. Acting on the pre-lets agreements to various industrial occupiers.
  • SEGRO on a number of its development sites within their “East Plus” portfolio with the Greater London Authority.

Offices

  • CBRE on its new HQ at Henrietta House, which included an entire site re-design and redevelopment for total area of 144,500 sq ft over 10 floors.
  • Great Portland Estates on its development at 2 Aldermanbury Square (let to Clifford Chance LLP) in the City of London.
  • LendLease on the pre-lets to Cancer Research UK and The British Council for Building S9 at The International Quarter, Stratford and its forward funding disposal to DWS for GBP 240m.
  • Patrizia on its HQ relocation to 24 Endell Street and letting of the studio space in the basement to ITV Studios.
  • Lendlease/Bovis on its HQ relocation to 1 Eversholt St.

Retail

  • Battersea Power Station on a number of pre-let agreements to F&B/retail operators.
