Kenna is an Associate in the Planning Team, having joined CMS in early 2024. She has spent time working for SSE Renewables in their bid team, advising on governance and eligibility conditions of national and international seabed leasing and subsidy auctions and has also spent time on secondment at a renewable energy developer.

She has experience across multiple sectors including offshore and onshore wind, solar, BESS, and hydrogen and on both contentious and non-contentious matters. Her experience spans the development process from pre-application strategy to decommissioning matters. 

Relevant experience

  • Flotation Energy plc on the DCO application for the generation assets for the Morecambe Offshore Windfarm and the application for Section 36 consent for their Cenos floating offshore wind farm. 
  • SSE on the promotion of their Ferrybridge Next Generation Power Station DCO.
  • Numerous onshore wind developers on applications for onshore wind farms in Scotland, including at pre-application stage and at inquiry.
  • An offshore wind developer in England on the compulsory acquisition process for its transmission cable route.
  • Numerous CPO matters in Scotland including for an offshore wind farm on its onshore cable route and a local authority in respect of new roads development. 
  • Cadent, SGN and other statutory undertakers in advising on the protection of assets in associated with the promotion of numerous third party DCOs and CPOs, including the negotiation of protective provisions and asset protection agreements.
  • Various clients on Corporate and Real Estate acquisitions, sales, and financings.
