Manuel is an Associate in the Infrastructure, Construction and Energy Disputes Team. He acts for international clients in cross-border disputes, with a particular focus on energy and infrastructure arbitration. He has acted for clients across Europe, Africa, Asia and South America in UNCITRAL, ICC and LCIA arbitration proceedings.

  • An oil and gas company in LCIA arbitration proceedings (London seat) concerning the operation and maintenance of an FPSO in offshore Brazil.
  • An Indian engineeringcompany in UNCITRAL and ICC investor-state arbitration proceedings (London seat) against the state of Mozambique concerning the concession of a USD 3bn infrastructure project to build a railway and port.
  • An international contractor in relation to a dispute concerning the design, engineering, manufacture, supply and installation of an ammonia fertilizer plant in Nigeria.
  • A joint venture of international oil and gas companies in LCIA arbitration proceedings (London seat) against a seismic data service provider in relation to wells in offshore Angola.
  • An international oil and gas company in LCIA arbitration proceedings (London seat) concerning an LNG project in the Congo.
  • A power company in a dispute relating to technical issues with the connection of a large offshore windfarm to the grid.
