Maurice is a senior associate in the Energy, Projects & Infrastructure team at CMS. Maurice has extensive experience leading and advising on complex cross-border transactions. 

He advises sponsors, investors, lenders, infrastructure funds, government stakeholders on the development, financing, acquisition and divestment of power and infrastructure assets across the UK, Europe, Middle East and Africa. 

His practice focuses on energy transition and renewable infrastructure including solar PV, battery storage, wind and hydrogen, with significant experience in route-to-market arrangements including corporate power purchase agreements (CPPAs), optimisation agreements and tolling agreements.

  • A leading investment bank on its market entry as optimiser and the debt financing of a portfolio of battery storage projects in the UK.
  • A leading utility in respect to the acquisition of a co-located solar PV and battery storage project in the UK.
  • An institutional pension fund in respect to sale of its wind portfolio in the UK.
  • A leading infrastructure fund on the sale of its utility scale renewable business in the UK.
  • Shinhan Asset Management on the acquisition and development of a portfolio of UK battery storage projects. 
  • Google on preparing CPPAs with renewable developers across Spain, Italy and Belgium.
  • Gore Street Capital on preparing optimisation agreements for battery storage portfolios across the UK, Europe and US.
  • Equinor on preparing offtake arrangements relating to a blue hydrogen facility and pipeline infrastructure project in the UK.
  • Infra Balance New Energy on the sale of a 2.8GW portfolio of battery storage and gas peaker assets to Hanwha Energy.
  • Railpen on the acquisition of a 45% equity stake in AGR Renewables.
  • SSE on a 33.3% share capital divestment in Scotia Gas Networks.
  • Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets on the financing and acquisition of a portfolio of gas fired power plants in the UK.
