Michelle is a Counsel in the Energy, Projects and Construction team and is based in Australia.   Michelle has over 20 years’ experience in private practice and has specialised exclusively in construction law since 2005.  

Michelle has extensive experience in construction, energy and infrastructure disputes having acted for employers, contractors, subcontractors and consultants throughout the dispute resolution process.  She also advises on non-contentious matters and has extensive experience with various procurement models.  

Relevant experience

  • An EPC contractor in a dispute arising out of the upgrade of a power station in the Northern Territory. 
  • A head contractor in multiple large road infrastructure projects in Queensland, including one dispute where over AUD $180m was claimed.
  • A pipeline contractor in multiple proceedings before the Supreme Court of Queensland to challenge arbitral awards (with ancillary proceedings before the Supreme Court of Victoria) arising out of a major LNG project in Queensland.
  • A statutory body created for the development of 5 inner city precincts surrounding high-capacity rail stations. 
  • An engineering design consultant in a dispute concerning a major rail network project in Queensland.  
  • A major subcontractor in a dispute arising out of the Legacy Way Tunnel project in Brisbane. 
  • A specialist subcontractor providing contract advice in relation to major transport infrastructure projects in Sydney and Melbourne.  
  • An engineering consultant in relation to a dispute arising from work performed in connection with solar farm projects in New South Wales.  
  • A European joint venture in relation to project management advice concerning a solar farm project in Queensland.
