Roisin is a Senior Associate in the Planning Team at CMS with 10 years of post-qualified experience in planning and environmental work.  Roisin splits her time evenly between fee earning work and a Knowledge Counsel role, an arrangement that affords her a uniquely holistic perspective on both the commercial imperatives of clients and the evolving legal framework in which they operate.

Roisin is experienced at dealing with development sites particularly where complex planning and environmental matters overlap. She acts for a variety of clients acquiring major property portfolios as well as active development sites where she routinely leads on completing the planning and environmental due diligence as well as negotiating complex contractual agreements to manage planning and environmental risks. Her development-led expertise encompasses the negotiation of planning obligations, infrastructure and highways agreements, and a broad suite of environmental and planning commercial agreements. Roisin is also experienced at acting for claimants and interested parties in claims for judicial review as well as appellants in planning appeals.

Roisin’s Knowledge Counsel role is both internally and externally facing. She attends and contributes towards a monthly planning Knowledge Counsel group, provides training to clients and attends focus groups concerning developments in planning law. Internally, Roisin keeps the team’s standardised documents up to date, provides internal training and keeps the team informed of legal and market developments to support the team’s role as a leading law firm in planning and environmental law.
