Sam is a European Patent Attorney, specialising in mechanical, physics, and computer-related inventions. Sam has experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications to grant, as well as on opposing and appealing patent applications, performing due diligence, freedom to operate, protecting registered designs, and preparing IP audits. He enjoys learning about his clients’ inventions and advising them on how to maximise the value of their IP. Sam has particular expertise and interest in renewable energy and clean technology.
Prior to joining CMS, Sam graduated with an MSci in Natural Sciences specialising in Physics, which provided him with interdisciplinary scientific knowledge and skills. During this, Sam completed projects on lasers, plasma technology, and renewable energy, and has since had the pleasure of advising clients on protecting this type of technology.
