Sarah is an Associate in the Employment team based in the Edinburgh office. She joined the team in 2022, having completed her traineeship with CMS.

Sarah advises clients across the UK on a range of employment matters, including corporate transactions, policy reviews, and day-to-day employment issues. Sarah has also been involved in various international employment projects relating to a wide variety of issues alongside colleagues in other CMS offices across the globe.

Sarah is also a member of the Edinburgh CMS Women committee.

Relevant experience

  • Supporting a major financial institution with various multi-jurisdictional projects, including in relation to a quarterly development tracker, diversity data and pro-ration of bonuses.
  • Coordinating a large international deal, involving advising on the UK aspects of the acquisition and coordinating diligence and advice regarding the transfer of people and assets across 16 jurisdictions (including Europe, Africa, South America and Asia).
  • Defending a client in the education sector against claims for unfair dismissal, automatic unfair dismissal, breach of contract, detriments arising from a protected disclosure and discrimination on the grounds of pregnancy or maternity.
