Simon Evans is a Senior Associate in the Pensions Team. As well as day-to-day advice, he has particular experience advising schemes and employers on scheme funding arrangements, distressed employers and GMP equalisation. He also advises on pensions litigation, especially ‘moral hazard’ and funding investigations by the Pensions Regulator and professional negligence claims. His reported cases include Colart [2019] EWHC 3081 (Ch) and BT [2020] EWCA Civ 1.

Simon joined CMS in 2018 after spending over 5 years at Herbert Smith Freehills LLP. He has previously been seconded to the New Airways Pension Scheme, Lloyds Banking Group and the Pension Protection Fund. Simon sits on the Education & Seminars Committee of the Association of Pension Lawyers.
