Tom is a senior associate in the Pensions Team. He joined CMS as a trainee solicitor in 2016 before qualifying into the Pensions Team in 2018. 

Tom advises trustees, employers and providers on a range of pensions issues relating to defined benefit and defined contribution pension schemes. 

Relevant experience

  • The Trustee of the Sanofi Pension Scheme on its GBP 760m buy-in transaction with Legal & General Assurance Society Limited.
  • The Trustee of the DB (UK) Pension Scheme in relation to its GBP 570m pensioner buy-in transaction with Legal & General Assurance Society Limited.
  • Trustees on their obligations in relation to GMP equalisation.
  • The trustees of a large defined benefit scheme on a significant three-way merger project.
  • Bulk transfers of pension liabilities to master trusts (on both the provider side and trustee side).

  • Contributor to the Pensions Law Handbook (16th Edition), Bloomsbury Professional.
