Chain Reactions: Building supply chain resilience in international construction
Data Driven Disputes
Key contact
Supply chain disruption is not a new phenomenon, but political instability, conflicts, cyber-attacks and extreme weather continue to strain supply chains and the construction industry they support. What has changed, however, is that businesses in the sector are now addressing disruption more actively.
We surveyed 316 legal and project management professionals in international construction and engineering businesses about how they are managing supply chain risk. Supply chain disruption and changes to contract terms are the joint top sources of disputes, each cited by 28% of respondents. 86% said their businesses have made structural changes to strengthen supply chain resilience, and 55% have made significant changes to their standard contract terms.
There is no single approach. Contracting practices and expectations for AI vary between regions, and AI adoption remains at an early stage: no task is currently supported by AI for more than 29% of respondents.
Pairing fresh survey data with commentary from CMS partners across multiple jurisdictions, the report will help you:
- understand where construction disputes are coming from
- compare your contract terms with how your peers are changing theirs
