CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre strengthens its African Practice with new team members

The CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre Africa team is being expanded with the arrival in Paris of Deana d’Almeida as senior lawyer, Iris Francis as lawyer and Ryme Boualam as legal expert.

The CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre Africa team has offices in Algiers, Casablanca and Paris. This international team, co-directed by Jean-Jacques Lecat, Pierre Marly, Samir Sayah and Marc Veuillot, now has 41 associates, 10 of whom are based in Paris.

The multidisciplinary team of lawyers based in Paris, is dedicated solely to company projects in Africa. The team's members are all experts in business law and the tax systems of Africa's key countries.

Deana d’Almeida, 38, has over 15 years' experience. She practised as a lawyer holding the post of Associate Director at EY Société d’Avocats, where she was in charge of the Africa Desk. A renowned international tax specialist for French-speaking African countries, she advises companies on their growth strategies in Africa.
Deana holds a degree from Institut de Droit des Affaires and a DESS post-graduate degree in Business and Tax Law from Université Paris II Panthéon-Assas (1999). She also received a Practising Certificate for French Lawyers (CAPA) in 2000.

Iris Francis, 33, practised as a lawyer for the Africa Desk at EY Société d’Avocats for 6 years.
Iris holds a CAPA (2008), a Master's 2 degree in Company Law and Finance from Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3 (2006) and a DJCE - Master's 2 degree in Business Law from Université de Cergy Pontoise (2007).

Ryme Boualam, 28, has completed several internships in project financing. He will help strengthen the Africa team's Energy/Infrastructure practice. Ryme holds a CAPA (2015), a Master's degree in Taxation, Business Law, Consulting and Management from INSEEC (2011), a Master's 2 degree in Business Law – Mergers & Acquisitions and Financing from Université d'Evry (2011), and a Master's 2 degree in Comparative International Law (African Law) from Université Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne (2013).
