CMS advises Yisheng on student housing sale to Round Hill Capital

2 min read

On this page

CMS has advised the European development company of the China based Yisheng Investment group on the turnkey sale of 703 independent student flats (managed by Student Experience) on the Leiden University campus to Round Hill Capital by means of a share deal.

The project consists of the construction of two buildings with a gross floor area of around 23,000 m2. Alongside individual student flats, the buildings will include various communal spaces and facilities, such as study spaces, dining rooms, laundry rooms and roof terraces. Construction will begin in mid-2021 and the buildings will be ready by the start of the academic year 2023/2024.

Our team assisted on all aspects of the development, including the land acquisition, negotiation of the construction agreement and financing, after the tax team had advised Yisheng Development on the tax optimisation of the deal.
