Will Anderson is a partner in CMS's UK Dispute Resolution Group advising clients on a wide range of English law commercial disputes. His work often involves bringing and defending claims for breach of contract, financial services and banking disputes, franchise disputes, IT disputes and cyber crime, warranty claims, shareholder disputes and general commercial litigation. He regularly provides advice to clients on contractual interpretation and tactical advice regarding on-going contractual relationships.

Splitting time between our Edinburgh and London offices, Will is an English qualified solicitor who concentrates on English law matters for clients from across the UK and further afield globally. Will’s work is often cross border, recently acting for clients based in Poland, Ukraine and Romania in disputes governed by English law.

Will’s Court experience extends to over ten years of managing litigation in the High Court and Court of Appeal in England and Wales, including seeking and opposing interim injunctions, often in time sensitive situations. Will advises clients on all aspects of their disputes management from the beginning of a dispute through to trial. He has extensive experience of mediation, successfully resolving complex disputes, avoiding matters proceeding to court. Will also acts for clients in international arbitration covering a number of different arbitral bodies.

Will is recommended by Legal 500 for Commercial Disputes and is also recommended by Acritas as an Acritas Star lawyer.

Away from the office Will is a lover of the great outdoors and when time allows he will be out walking with his family, playing tennis or golf, summiting munros, running off road trail races or enjoying the bracing north sea on (or more often off) his surfboard or paddleboard.

Risk Essentials: Commercial Contracts and AI: Grasping the Opportunities...
In this session, we will explore how recent developments in Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI are likely to affect commercial contract lawyers.  AI has the potential to help commercial contract lawyers become more efficient and cost-effective, but the question remains whether some of this technology may replace (or change) the need for qualified lawyers. Headlining our session will be a talk from leading technologist Professor Daniel Katz looking into how legal technology is likely to change the way lawyers draft, negotiate and review commercial contracts.  We will then ask a panel of legal and innovation experts from CMS to discuss how they see AI affecting their practice areas, including how they interact with clients.
