Stuttgart – Mobility as a Service provider AZOWO GmbH has raised growth capital in a Series A financing round led by AEW Energie AG (AEW).
A CMS team headed by Dr Christoph Lächler and Dr Florian Plagemann advised AEW on all aspects of the contract negotiations as well as on legal and tax due diligence.
AEW is an independent energy supply company based in the Swiss canton of Aargau. The firm is aiming to achieve carbon neutrality (net zero) by 2040 at the latest. As an integrated energy service provider, AEW is involved in the production of electricity and heating/cooling, and is a leading grid operator and supplier to its customers. AEW focuses on hydro-electric power, solar and wind energy for generating its electricity. AEW also provides services in grid and energy-related sectors and in telecommunications.
AZOWO operates in the connected mobility market as a platform operator for digital solutions, offering innovative cloud products for companies, local authorities, energy suppliers, airports and other service providers.
This investment strengthens AEW’s position in the e-mobility market and will allow it to expand its digitalisation expertise.
