Hamburg – Airbus and Safeguard have signed an agreement with Hutchinson regarding the sale and transfer of all shares in PFW Aerospace GmbH, a key supplier in the aviation industry. The divestment has been completed at the end of the year 2019.

An international CMS team led by partner Dr Eckart Gottschalk advised Airbus on all legal aspects of the transaction. CMS offices in the United Kingdom and in Istanbul (Türkiye) were also involved.

PFW Aerospace GmbH is active in the fields of development, designing, engineering, manufacturing and sale of components for the aviation industry, in particular tubes. It was founded more than 100 years ago and employs over 2,000 people at its locations in Speyer (Germany), Nuneaton (Great Britain) and Izmir (Türkiye). In 2011, Airbus took over 74.9% of the shares in PFW Aerospace GmbH.

CMS has advised Airbus on several occasions in the past.
