Fiona Savary specialises in all legal aspects of information technology and digitalisation, assisting clients with the planning and implementation of complex IT project and with a focus on drafting and negotiating IT-related contracts (e.g. SaaS, IaaS, software development, software licensing, outsourcing), both for customers and IT service providers. Fiona also advises clients on contentious IT matters, including representation in arbitration and court proceedings.

Fiona advises medium-sized companies as well as global corporations from various industries, especially technology, IT, industry, consulting and finance. This includes sector-specific advice regarding compliance requirements for IT outsourcing in the finance sector. She also advises on data protection law and on structuring legally compliant online platforms, with a particular focus on platform regulation.

Fiona joined CMS in 2019 and was appointed as counsel in 2024. She is admitted as a lawyer in both Switzerland and Germany. During her PhD studies at the University of St. Gallen she spent time researching at Harvard University’s Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society.
