CMS engage our senior leaders and clients on LGBT+ equality and inclusion and work with a number of organisations that help us with this agenda.

Among others, Michael Cavers, member of the Board, and active member and champion of the LGBT+ Network acts as a visible role model.

Inclusive workplace

All our policies apply to same sex couples (e.g. shared parental leave, adoption leave). CMS also has a Transgender policy and our Dress code policy is gender neutral. In order to accommodate all genders, all our UK locations have gender neutral toilets.

Pride in London

CMS have been the proud Official Pro Bono Legal Sponsor of Pride in London since 2012. We have supported Pride in London both in the bidding phases leading up to them securing the mandate in 2013, as well as over the past number of years, which has seen Pride in London grow significantly year on year in both footprint and inclusiveness of the LGBT+ community and allies.

Annually CMS are proud to support the Official pre-parade Pride in London Brunch hosted by Dame Fiona Woolf DBE (Patron of Pride) and our LGBT+ Network, for senior leaders of the LGBT+ community and straight allies from the political and business worlds.

Pride in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Bristol, Manchester, Prague & Budapest

Since 2017 CMS have been sponsoring and walking in many more Prides, both in the UK and in Europe. It is often the opportunity for our colleagues to come together with allies across the firm, their families, clients and local communities.

The Glass Charter

CMS was the first law firm in Scotland to sign up to the Glass Charter, a framework for legal firms and organisations to promote principles of LGBT+ equality and diversity in their workplaces.


CMS is a Corporate Member of Stonewall and works closely with the charity which provides support and advises us in relation to our work on LGBT+ equality.
