The CMS Scotland Food & Drink team is delighted to share details of Kernel, our webinar series.  The sessions are designed to support you on current legal issues affecting the Scottish food and drink industry and provide regular updates on key developments.

This series kicks off with our first session on food safety on 31 August.  Please register for this and as many sessions as you would like by using the link below.  The timings for each session is 09:30-10:15.

Join our expert speakers for an insightful webinar discussing recent developments in food safety and regulation. Rosalind Morgan and Fiona Carter will give an overview of recent product safety/recall case studies, and an update on wider legislative and policy developments which look beyond ensuring that food is simply “safe” to consider the industry’s role in helping the food system become healthier and more sustainable.

Thurs, 29 September - An overview of IP and IP Disputes in the Food & Drink sector

Join our expert speakers for an interactive and insightful webinar discussing IP and IP Disputes in the Food & Drink Sector.  Neeraj Thomas and Cara McGlynn will give an overview of the main types of IP relevant to the F&D Sector and how they are protected, a summary of where IP disputes/claims may arise in the F&D sector and discuss recent case studies involving IP disputes in the F&D sector and some key “take-aways” following these.

Thurs, 27 October - How to mitigate potential delays in your supply chain by strengthening your force majeure contract provisions

A retrospective look at case law focusing on the application of force majeure clauses and the doctrine of frustration, with a prospective look at how these principles may apply to commercial contracts in the current global economic and social climate.

Thurs, 24 November - ESG from a People Perspective: what does it mean for Food and Drink?

In this session, we will explore what means ESG from a workforce perspective: E - aligning employees to your green strategy and the risks and challenges arising from this; S – what falls under the S and how to take measurable steps to improve your S performance; G – how that fits in. We will also look at why ESG is important in a food & drink context, particularly against a backdrop of a skills shortage, and share examples of effective steps being taken by food & drink employers to build and maintain sustainable working practices.
