TUPE is designed to protect employees when the business they work for or the contract they work on is transferred.  Knowledge of TUPE is particularly important in the construction sector in the context of contractors. However, whether TUPE applies in any given situation can be hard to predict.

In this session we will provide an overview of the existing legal framework as well as some of the more practical tricky issues TUPE can throw at you. Focussing on commercial solutions to common problems in the construction, engineering and infrastructure sector, Eileen MacMahon and Emily Matthews cover a range of common queries, such as when are a group of employees assigned, how should you deal with a disputed transfer, how creative can you be with secondments, and what about post transfer harmonisation? Join us to learn how to avoid the curveballs.
