International law firm CMS was named Real Estate Team of the Year at the 2023 Legal Business Awards Ceremony, held in London. CMS was also Highly Commended in the Commercial Litigation Team of the Year category.
Now in their 26th year, the Legal Business Awards celebrate and recognise the best in the legal industry. The extensive project included advising on all real estate and development matters, as well as planning, s106, rights of light, IP, procurement, the joint venture and construction of the new development, and the heavily contested sale of their existing adjacent sites at City Road/Old Street London.
CMS Real Estate Partner Candice Blackwood commented: “We are delighted to have won this award, which recognises the excellent advice the team has delivered on a complex project and our expertise in the healthcare sector. My thanks go to the team who worked tirelessly to deliver a fantastic outcome.”
The multidisciplinary team was led by Candice Blackwood and included Erin Goodall, Emma Forbes Stocken and Sonal Parmar (Real Estate); Rebecca Roffe and Patrick Fenlon (Planning); Chris Hallam and David Turner (Construction); Graeme Young and Kirsty MacKenzie (Procurement); Nick Lloyd, Danielle Drummond-Brassington and Dan Tench (Dispute Resolution); Phil Anderson, Patrick Speller, Sophie Curran and Sarah Etherington (Corporate).
