31 January 2024

International law firm CMS is strengthening its Real Estate practice with the appointment of Rebecca Moore, who joins the firm as partner from BCLP.

Rebecca has a strong practice in the residential sector, particularly the Private Rented Sector and the affordable living sector, and brings a wealth of experience in development work for residential funds, developers, and institutional clients. She also regularly acts for investors in the acquisition and disposal of prime retail and office assets.

Partner and Co-Head of Real Estate at CMS, John Cumpson, commented: “We are delighted that Rebecca is joining CMS. She is an excellent and ambitious lawyer with complementary experience that will significantly strengthen our real estate residential expertise, a key strategic area for our practice. I look forward to welcoming her to the team.”

Partner and Co-Head of Real Estate at CMS, Marie Scott, added: “Rebecca is a role model for young female lawyers. Her dedication to the growth of her practice is combined with a passion for supporting families and carers, and championing for equal gender representation in the legal industry. Her values align perfectly with those of CMS and she will be a fantastic addition to the team.”

Rebecca commented: “I am excited to join the market-leading CMS Real Estate practice. The firm offers me an unrivalled opportunity to provide my clients with a full legal offering, from core real estate, to construction, planning, banking and tax. I look forward to working with my colleagues to drive the firm’s expansion in the residential sector.”

Rebecca’s appointment follows a series of hires and promotions over the past 18 months as CMS continues to strengthen its real estate offering in the UK. CMS appointed Barry Edgar (Real Estate Transactions, Scotland), Michael Buchanan (Real Estate Transactions Manchester), Melanie Hughes (Real Estate Transactions London), Paul Paling (Real Estate Transactions London), Helen Johnson (Construction and Engineering, Sheffield), Helen Balliger (Real Estate Transactions, Sheffield), and David Hardy (Planning, Sheffield) as partners, while Sara Keag, Irfaan Khaliq and Scott Curtis were promoted to partners.
