Aidan Steensma is an Of Counsel in the Infrastructure Construction and Energy Disputes (ICED) team with more than 25 years’ experience. Aidan primarily focuses on disputes concerning large scale construction and infrastructure projects, including oil and gas facilities, chemical and power plants, rail and highway concessions and hospital developments. Aidan also has experience in insurance claims arising from such projects following defective workmanship and design.

Aidan’s work covers a wide range of construction issues including defective performance, varied works, payment disputes and contractual termination. Aidan is experienced in all major dispute resolution procedures, including mediation, expert determination, adjudication, arbitration and litigation.

Aidan has a keen interest in construction-related legal developments and is editor of the firms’ Law-Now service for construction law, which consistently ranks as the most popular legal update service for construction law from any law firm. Aidan has also won the UK’s Society of Construction Law Hudson Prize essay competition for his submission on the law governing claims for delay and disruption.
