Amit is a Partner and Solicitor Advocate in the London Insurance & Reinsurance Group and a member of the firm’s cybersecurity team. 

Amit provides legal advice and, incident response management to victims of cyber incidents regarding potential breaches of the GDPR and/or NIS and notifications to the relevant regulators and data subjects, as well as responding to regulatory investigations and defending claims that arise. Amit also regularly advises the insurance market on coverage and monitoring issues that arise following an incident. 

Amit’s broader practice includes advising on claims involving Financial Institutions, Directors & Officers and other professionals as well as Technology and Cyber. Amit acts on both defence and coverage matters.

Outside of work Amit enjoys playing cricket, golf and following Arsenal FC.

Relevant experience

  • Insureds on over 60 breaches as IRM and legal advisor including numerous breaches involving data subjects in multiple jurisdictions requiring the coordination of various law firms and service providers.
  • On notifications to the ICO and affected data subjects, including assisting with the preparation of notification documents and responding to investigations. 
  • The board of a listed company on a breach and whether suspension of trading of shares was required and the production of market sensitive information. 
  • The defence of multiple privacy related claims on behalf of insureds following a cyber attack. To date – we have successfully resolved all claims prior to the issuing of proceedings. 
  • The insurance market on coverage issues arising out of a breach including monitoring regulatory investigations and litigation.
