Claire Quinn is an Associate in the Infrastructure, Construction and Energy Disputes team based in our Aberdeen office. She has a wide range of experience in advising on dispute avoidance and dispute resolution, including conducting court proceedings in the Scottish courts (sheriff court and Court of Session) where required.

As part of our Aberdeen team she continues to advise on a wide variety of commercial disputes, both for the oil and gas industry (for example, advising on joint venture disputes, company/contractor disputes and oil & gas industry regulatory matters) and in broader construction disputes (for example, payment disputes, adjudication enforcement).

Relevant experience

  • An oil & gas client on a dispute involving local businessmen continuing to carry out business in an area that work was being carried out in imminently. This involved assisting with and advising the client on raising urgent interim interdict proceedings in the High Court in England.
  • On a continuing construction related dispute involving compensation event claims under an NEC3 agreement which has involved adjudication proceedings and a commercial action in the Court of Session.
  • An oil & gas client with various issues that have arisen out of a number of assets covered by various Joint Operating Agreements for which they are the Operator, including with getting budget approval, cash calls and carrying out Operating Committee meetings.
  • A client who is a Respondent in Petition proceedings under Section 1 of the Administration of Justice Act 1972. A dawn raid was carried out at the client’s premises and Claire Quinn is assisting with advising the client on the strategy for responding to the Petition.
