Conor is a Senior Associate in the Infrastructure, Construction, and Energy Disputes team. He helps clients in the UK and across Europe to resolve disputes arising from large-scale infrastructure and energy projects, including energy from waste, off-shore wind, oil and gas, nuclear, interconnectors, marine dredging, highways, and other significant developments.

Conor’s experience spans most forms of dispute resolution, including litigation, adjudication, mediation, and expert determination. He also advises clients in the energy sector on engagements with the regulator, including in respect of investigations, judicial review, and appeals to the Competition and Markets Authority. He has a keen interest in environmental considerations and has spoken to clients in the construction and energy sectors about the evolving legal landscape in that arena.

Relevant experience

  • A Spanish renewable energy contractor in a series of disputes with its Local Authority employer concerning project delay, interpretation of grid connection agreements, and reasonableness of proposed power purchase agreement.
  • A regulated supplier in the UK energy sector, responding to price control consultations and requests for information, and advising on procurement obligations, licence renewal, and risk of investigation.
  • A Scandinavian nuclear decommissioning agency as to risk allocation and indemnification principles prescribed by the Paris Convention and local law for nuclear incident during transport.
  • A Danish commodities supplier in a payment dispute with purchasers pursuant to a supply and purchase agreement for bunker fuel.
  • A Spanish infrastructure contractor in a series of litigated and adjudicated disputes with its employer and supply chain arising from the major expansion of a UK harbour.
  • Aecom in relation to health and safety concerns and proposed disputes arising from alleged negligent design.
  • A UK-based electricity supplier in relation to claims against its fire safety contractor arising from an environmental incident.
  • The operator of an offshore windfarm as to liability of its contractor for defects pursuant to a turbine supply agreement.
