Erin is an Associate in the Planning Team, having trained and qualified at CMS in 2023. She advises on major energy and infrastructure projects across England and Scotland. Her experience spans the energy sector including offshore and onshore wind, transmission, BESS and solar, as well as town and country planning matters, including mixed-use, retail and local authority schemes. 

She advises on consenting and compulsory acquisition strategies and supports clients through pre-application and pre-examination, examination and delivery stages of nationally significant infrastructure projects (including in relation to land rights, route selection, EIA and HRA). She also drafts and negotiates planning, roads and highways agreements, undertakes due diligence for purchasers, developers and investors.

Her clients include renewable energy developers, statutory undertakers and local authorities.

Relevant experience

  • Flotation Energy and Vårgrønn on the promotion of the 560MW Green Volt Offshore Wind Farm.
  • Morecambe Offshore Windfarm on its joint transmission Development Consent Order application with bp for the 480MW Morecambe Offshore Wind Farm.
  • Falkirk Council on the Grangemouth Flood Protection Scheme, one of the largest flood schemes in the UK, including on EIA and HRA strategy. 
  • Objectors on various Development Consent Order applications, including drafting and negotiating protective provisions and side agreements.
  • Promoters of various schemes requiring consent under Sections 36 and 37 of the Electricity Act 1989.
  • Local authorities, developers, land promoters and funders on complex planning obligations.
