Jake is an associate in our Infrastructure, Construction and Energy (ICE) Disputes Group.

He advises on international and domestic disputes across the infrastructure, construction and energy sectors. Previously based in the Middle East and now working from our London office, Jake continues to support clients globally on dispute avoidance and resolution, including international arbitration, litigation and adjudication.

Relevant experience

  • A joint venture of European contractors in multiple intra-consortium disputes and a dispute with the employer relating to a USD 3bn metro rail project in the Middle East (ICC arbitration, Dubai seat), with claims exceeding USD 250m.
  • A Brazil-based oil exploration and production company in an LCIA arbitration (London seat) concerning operational disputes on a floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel.
  • An international engineering and project management firm in defending design defect claims arising from a fire at a luxury hotel in the United Arab Emirates.
  • A project company in a PFI dispute and adjudication regarding defect claims related to a purpose-built adult mental health facility and hospital.
  • A consortium of international investors and developers in a dispute arising from structural defects in access infrastructure to a power substation.
  • An international oil and gas drilling contractor in an UNCITRAL arbitration (London seat) involving COVID-19-related claims and a potential force majeure under a drilling contract for a rig mobilised onshore in Kuwait.
