James is an Associate in the Litigation and Arbitration team in London. He has experience working on high value disputes, including domestic and cross-border litigation, international arbitration, mediation and other dispute resolution methods.

James also advises on reputation management issues and times of crisis, with experience in defamation, data protection and privacy law.

Relevant experience

  • A broadcaster providing reputation management advice in relation to media, regulatory and parliamentary scrutiny.
  • A major insurer to provide strategic guidance on crises and incidents across the full range of media issues, including data protection, defamation, privacy and intellectual property rights.
  • A streaming service in defamation proceedings, including preparing a successful application for strike out and/or summary judgment.
  • A challenge to the Caffe Nero Company Voluntary Arrangement .
  • A multi-million pound LCIA arbitration involving a world leading automotive brand relating to distribution rights in the Middle East and North Africa.
  • In respect of a joint venture dispute regarding a significant heritage vehicle manufacturer.
  • A private equity firm in relation to defamatory allegations made in a British broadsheet newspaper.
