Jessica is a Senior Associate in the Employment Team in London. She trained at CMS and qualified into the team in 2018, and has a particular interest in contentious employment law across a broad range of sectors, with particular expertise in the financial services and technology and media sectors. 

Jessica advises on complex Employment Tribunal claims, including discrimination, victimisation, whistleblowing, unlawful deduction from wages and breach of contract claims. 

Jessica also provides day to day HR and employment support to clients on a variety of HR legal issues, in particular complex exits, redundancy programmes, sickness absence and family-friendly rights. Jessica also has particular expertise in people issues following cyber breaches, including data subject access and erasure requests.

Relevant experience

  • A leading global investment bank on its defence of a complex race and disability discrimination in-employment Employment Tribunal claim.
  • A leading provider of insurance and healthcare benefit programmes on its day-to-day employment issues, including complex redundancy programmes and restructuring, changing terms and conditions of employment, senior exits, contractual arrangements and family leave arrangements. 
  • A leading global technology client on multiple discrimination and whistleblowing Employment Tribunal claims, and reaching beneficial settlement for some claims which ensured significant costs were avoided.
  • An insured client on HR issues following a cyber breach, including managing a significant number of data subject access requests and erasure requests simultaneously. 
  • Working a six-month secondment as in-house counsel at a leading global investment bank, advising internal HR and ER teams on a range of complex legal issues, including redundancies, sickness absence, flexible working requests, recruitment and background screening, grievances and settlement strategy, disciplinaries, outsourcing, conduct rule breaches and diversity and inclusion initiatives.
