Katherine joined CMS as a trainee solicitor in 2015 and qualified into the Pensions team in August 2017. She assists trustees and employers on advisory matters and the pensions aspects of corporate and restructuring transactions. In particular, Katherine advises trustee clients on ongoing governance and benefit issues and has worked on a number of de-risking projects including buy-ins, buy-outs and longevity swaps.      

Relevant experience

  • The trustee of the BAA Pension Scheme on a £325m buy-in, accompanied by a bespoke bond issue by London Heathrow.
  • A trustee client on the full buy-out of a scheme with residual risks cover.
  • A corporate client on a regulated apportionment arrangement.
  • Trustee clients on member disputes including complaints made to the Pensions Ombudsman and under internal dispute resolution procedures.
