Marco is an Associate in the Infrastructure, Construction, and Energy (ICE) Disputes team, based in the London office. He assists clients on a wide range of complex and high-value matters across Europe, Africa, the Americas and the Middle East, with a particular focus on resolving disputes in the infrastructure, construction and energy sectors.

Marco’s experience covers most forms of dispute resolution, including litigation in the English courts and arbitration under the rules of the major arbitral institutions (such as ICC, LCIA and ICSID), as well as ad hoc arbitrations (including under the UNCITRAL Rules).

Marco is qualified in Mexico (abogado) and England & Wales (solicitor).

  • A Chilean company in relation to a breach of contract claim against a Scandinavian company (ICC arbitration).
  • A US company in relation to a contractual dispute with a UK company over a disputed pricing mechanism (ad hoc arbitration).
  • A British national and founder of a shipbuilding company providing services in the oil and gas sector in a US$200 million investment treaty arbitration against a Latin American state (ICSID arbitration).
  • Two Central American investors providing services in the oil and gas sector against a Latin American state in a US$400 million bilateral investment treaty claim (ad hoc arbitration).
  • A Caribbean state in relation to a claim brought by a developer of a five-star hotel resort (ICSID arbitration).
  • A Chinese conglomerate and its Chilean subsidiaries in relation to fraud proceedings in the English High Court in respect of a claim in excess of US$900 million.
  • A European government on resisting enforcement proceedings of an arbitral award in the English High Court.
  • A Dubai-based company in relation to a novel application for a stay of proceedings under section 9 of the Arbitration Act 1996.
