Michelle is an Associate in the Employment Team in the London office. She joined the firm as a trainee in 2018 (during which she spent 6 months on a trainee secondment with the legal team at Amazon) and qualified into the team in 2020. Prior to joining the firm, Michelle worked in-house for 2 years at a boutique travel company as the sole Legal Officer. 

Michelle advises clients across a range of sectors providing advice on a full-range of contentious and non-contentious employment law matters. Michelle has experience acting for respondents in Employment Tribunal litigation, defending multi-faceted, complex and high-value claims. Michelle’s work on day-to-day employment issues includes advising clients on disciplinary and grievance processes, redundancies and general HR related queries. Michelle also regularly advises clients on and manages data subject access requests as well as providing employment expertise and support to our Corporate/M&A team on corporate transactions. 

Separate to her trainee secondment, following qualification Michelle spent over a year on secondment as an in-house employment lawyer at a global technology company, providing support on Employment Tribunal litigation, a broad range of day-to-day employment advice and managing the senior exit process. 

Michelle is also involved in CMS’ corporate social responsibility work and regularly provides pro-bono employment law advice as well as general volunteering.

  • A global technology company on a complex, high-value and sensitive whistleblowing and discrimination claim.  
  • A blockchain company on numerous disciplinary investigations and subsequent Employment Tribunal proceedings. 
  • On the employment aspects of a high-value and multi-jurisdictional retail acquisition of a household brand. 
  • A retail client with all its employment law needs including advising on redundancies, people management, policy reviews and training.
