Sofia is an Associate in the Infrastructure, Construction, and Energy Disputes team based in CMS’ London office.

Since qualifying in February 2024, Sofia has worked on international and domestic disputes across the construction, and energy sectors, and has gained experience of several different forms of dispute resolution, including adjudication, arbitration and litigation.

Relevant experience

  • Telecommunications client in avoiding and managing claims arising from a contract for the installation of high-speed broadband infrastructure including defending and pursuing claims through a series of adjudications.
  • Multinational energy and petrochemical company on exiting operations in Kurdistan and responding to an emergency arbitration application arising out of a Sale and Purchase Agreement. 
  • Telecommunications client in responding to statutory Request for Information from regulator.
  • An appellant in an appeal to the Supreme Court which considered a number of issues of significance arising out of the new Building Safety Act.
  • International energy and water company in bringing a claim in the Commercial Court for a transaction at undervalue and a transaction defrauding creditors under the Insolvency Act 1986.
