The public consultation process has been opened for the submission of comments and documents regarding the partial transposition of Directive (EU) 2023/2413, of 18 October 2023 (RED III).
The RED III Directive strengthens the European Union's objectives concerning renewable energy, stipulating that by 2030, at least 42.5% of the energy consumed in the European Union must come from renewable sources.
To meet this target, this partial transposition introduces significant innovations in the regulatory framework applicable to renewable energy, impacting the national level through Decree-Law no. 15/2022, of 14 January, which establishes the organisation and operation of the National Electricity System, and Decree-Law no. 151-B/2013, of 31 October, which approves the legal regime for the environmental impact assessment of public and private projects likely to have significant effects on the environment.
The submission of comments and documents within the scope of this public consultation must be done exclusively through the ConsultaLEX portal, and requires registration on the platform by citizens, companies, or associations wishing to exercise their right to participate.
