Press release - 07 November 2024

Led by partner Alexander Rakosi and lawyer Marco Steiner-Selenic (both Corporate/M&A), an interdisciplinary CMS team in Vienna has provided extensive legal advice to lead investor 6 Degrees Capital and other investors in a funding round worth EUR 5 million for the Vienna-based energy start-up Nobilegroup.

“The investment in Nobile demonstrates the growing importance of sustainable investments and once again showcases our expertise in renewable energy. It has been a pleasure to advise 6 Degrees Capital on this investment,” says Alexander Rakosi, a partner at CMS and member of the Corporate Transactions team in Vienna.

The Vienna-based start-up Nobile specialises in renewable energy solutions. With its platform Nobile:Connected, the company has supported producers in developing energy communities (energy hubs) since 2021, facilitating direct supply of renewable energy to consumers at local, regional and interregional levels.

The funding round was led by 6 Degrees Capital, an early-stage VC fund based in London and Antwerp that invests in start-ups from seed to series B stage, with a focus on fintech and SaaS. Next to 6 Degrees Capital, other participating investors were D2 Fund, Doral Energy Tech and Helen Ventures.

The investment enables the Vienna-based start-up to accelerate its product development and further expand its international market presence.
