David is an associate in the Banking & Finance team at CMS Czech Republic. He specialises in banking and finance transactions. His experience includes advising on various cross-border and domestic lending transactions across a variety of sectors, with a particular focus on acquisition/leveraged and real estate financing. He advises major financial institutions as well as borrowers and sponsors. David also advises clients on domestic bond issuances, in particular in the real estate sector. In addition, he gives lectures and seminars on various aspects of finance transactions.

Before joining CMS, David gained experience as an associate at an international law firm.

Relevant experience

  • A club of Czech banks led by Česká spořitelna on complex cross-border financing for the Smarty BRANDS. Group. The financing serves to refinance the group's existing indebtedness while also providing additional funds for operational needs of the group and its investment targets.
  • A club of Czech banks led by Česká spořitelna on complex financing for the SILON Group, including a sustainability linked loan, which is linked to the environmental goals of the entire group.
  • A club of banks consisting of UniCredit Bank Czech Republic and Slovakia and Československá obchodní banka on complex refinancing for the existing debt of EUROMEDIA GROUP and financing for the acquisition of a 100% share in PEMIC BOOKS.
  • A syndicate of Czech and Slovak banks, led by Komerční banka, on a EUR 130m top-up facility to Penta Hospitals International. This transaction increases the total loans under the existing facilities to EUR 280m, underscoring Penta Hospitals International's robust performance and promising growth trajectory across the Czech Republic, Poland, and Slovakia.
  • A consortium of Czech banks led by Komerční banka, and further consisting of Česká spořitelna, UniCredit Bank Czech Republic and Slovakia, and Všeobecná úverová banka, on a club financing for NET4GAS, the exclusive gas transmission system operator in the Czech Republic (and wholly owned by the Czech Republic) operating more than 4,000 km of pipelines.
  • Československá obchodní banka on the preparation of loan documentation and limited legal due diligence for Pernerova Development s.r.o. (PernerKa by KKCG Group).
  • A CEE operator of hospitals and outpatient clinics on financing provided by a syndicate of banks.
  • A club of banks on financing provided to a state enterprise involved in the Czech defence aerospace industry for the acquisition of military training aircraft.
  • A Czech subsidiary of a French financial services provider on financing to an operator of water supply and sewage systems regarding a wastewater treatment plant.
  • A Czech subsidiary of a French financial services provider on financing to acquire a leading European manufacturer of building profiles.
