Pro bono Engagement
Non-profit organisations also need legal advice, but often do not have adequate financial resources (if any). Our pro bono engagement is aimed at contributing to a stable and functioning civil society, with widespread access to justice. CMS Germany launched its CMSengage! pro bono programme in conjunction with the CMS Foundation.
Any lawyer in our firm can take part in CMSengage! – from long-serving partners to associates at the start of their career. The CMS Foundation connects non-profit organisations with the firm’s employees in order to provide them with free legal advice. The enquiries cover a number of legal areas and are as varied as the organisations themselves. Our advice ranges from individual casework for a specific organisation through to free webinars on legal subjects and legal assessment of social trends.
In addition to the CMS Foundation, other engagement partners are also involved in our practical pro bono work, such as UPJ (a pro bono legal advice association) and ProjectTogether. CMS Germany has also been a member of Pro Bono Deutschland e.V. since it was formed in 2011.
