Frankfurt/Main – German Equity Partners V (“GEP V” or the “Fund”) has taken an equity interest in the Düsseldorf-based talent acquisition platform ONE HIRING Group (“1H”) through a partnership investment. The Fund is managed by independent German investment company ECM Equity Capital Management GmbH (“ECM”). 1H specialises in finding staff for permanent positions in the tech and finance sectors, and has also recently expanded into the legal sector. 1H’s flexible hybrid business model combines a proprietary technology platform with the personal input of traditional recruitment agents. Together with the new partner, the 1H team headed by co-founder and CEO Julian Schubert aims to continue pursuing its ambitious cross-sector growth plans, combined with international expansion in more regions. The focus is on boosting sales activities and operational excellence initiatives, supported by continuous investment in the digital platform. 1H will also look at strategic acquisitions to complement organic growth. Julian Schubert and a group of senior employees have taken a significant stake and will continue to develop the company. Further details of the transaction were not disclosed.

An international CMS team headed by lead partner Dr Hendrik Hirsch advised GEP V on all legal aspects of the deal. The advice covered the legal side of the transaction, including tax aspects, and acquiring the equity interest.

ECM is an independent private equity firm focusing on mid-market companies and business owners in the German-speaking parts of Europe. Since 1995, ECM has set up equity funds GEP I to V, which together are worth more than EUR 1 billion. ECM is currently investing for the fifth fund, GEP V (EUR 325 million). The ECM funds invest mainly in leading medium-sized companies with attractive growth potential as part of succession plans, partnership investments and corporate spin-offs.
