Stuttgart – Construction group Implenia AG, based in Dietlikon, Switzerland, has acquired the Bilfinger Hochbau unit from Apleona GmbH. The purchase price was not disclosed. The transaction is currently awaiting approval from the competition authorities.
A CMS team headed by lead partner Dr Thomas Meyding advised Implenia AG on all legal aspects of the transaction. Implenia AG has previously also relied on the expertise of CMS lawyers, with CMS advising the company on its acquisition of Bilfinger SE’s infrastructure division, for example.
Implenia AG is an international construction and construction services company. The listed company employs over 8,100 people and generated sales of around CHF 3.3 billion in 2015.
Bilfinger Hochbau provides structural engineering services ranging from planning to turnkey buildings, with proven expertise in construction site logistics, cold storage construction and façade technology. The unit has a production output of around EUR 450 million and employs some 1,000 people.
Apleona GmbH operates in more than 30 countries, providing services related to real estate and industrial facilities. Its headquarters are in Neu-Isenburg, Germany. In 2015, the company’s 22,000 employees generated sales of EUR 2.5 billion.
