Hamburg - Investment company Marguerite Pantheon SCSp has sold its 22.5 percent stake in the German offshore wind farm Butendiek to the Irish investment company Greencoat Renewables PLC. The offshore wind farm is located in the German exclusive economic zone of the North Sea about 30 kilometres west of the island Sylt. The wind farm has been in operation since 2015. With its 80 wind turbines with a total capacity of 288 megawatts, the Butendiek wind farm can cover annual electricity consumption of approximately 370,000 households. The closing of the transaction, which is expected during the first quarter of 2023, is still subject to regulatory approvals. All parties involved have agreed not to disclose further details of the transaction.

A CMS team headed by Dr Holger Kraft, Matthias Sethmann and Dr Luise Pelzer advised Marguerite Pantheon on all legal aspects of the transaction. The CMS team's advice included vendor due diligence, drafting of transaction documentation and contract negotiations. The CMS team headed by Dr Holger Kraft has again successfully advised on an offshore wind farm transaction. During the last year, CMS Germany was involved in transactions on the offshore wind farms Borkum Riffgrund I, Veja Mate, Borssele III & IV as well as Nordsee Two and Nordsee Three.
