Daniel Hennig specialises in advising German and international companies and groups from various sectors on individual and collective employment law. He has extensive experience in complex – also cross-border – restructurings and outsourcing projects. His practice covers the strategic preparation of restructurings as well as the related negotiations with work councils and trade unions on reconciliation of interests and social plan agreements.
Daniel is a trusted adviser for Work 4.0 and for the digitalisation of the workplace, with a focus on the legally compliant implementation of modern working models, flexible remuneration systems and the introduction of software and IT systems with data protection implications.
Daniel also has special expertise in establishing or expanding appropriate (cross-border) compliance structures as well as in the coordination of defence in criminal investigations, in particular with respect to general contractor liability in the construction industry and cross border personnel deployment.
Daniel is a member of the CMS Cluster of Excellence for "Digitalisation & Data Protection". He is a lecturer for employment law at Hagen Law School – training specialised lawyers in collective bargaining law – and for the MBA program "Management in the Construction Industry" at the Academy of Biberach University of Applied Sciences. He is regularly invited to speak at conferences of the German Federal Association of Construction Companies. Daniel is also author and (co-)editor of numerous sector-specific publications.
Daniel joined CMS in 2017. He was appointed as counsel in 2023.
