New date - 2 May 2013 - London

We were unable to go ahead with our seminar on 13 March because adverse weather conditions in Northern Europe prevented our speakers from travelling to London. The seminar will now take place on 2 May. This event is now open for booking, please use the RSVP button below. Apologies to the delegates who had booked for 13 March - we hope you will be able to join us on 2 May; if you are able to make this date please use the RSVP button below to confirm your place.

At this seminar, a panel of speakers from across Europe will bring you the latest news and analysis on the impact of the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD). Our panel includes experts from France, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and the UK.

The AIFMD "level 1" framework was adopted in November 2011 but we have been waiting for the detailed "level 2" requirements. Following a lengthy consultation process, the European Commission finally adopted its draft level 2 Regulation on 19 December 2012.

At this seminar, we will bring delegates up to date on the progress of the EU legislation and domestic implementation. We will be able to look at the key issues in much more detail (with the benefit of the level 2 material) - both for managers and others involved with AIF products.

In particular we will explain how the controversial AIFMD rules will impact market participants (both EU and non-EU companies) including:

  • depository liability - how will stricter liability affect the market
  • delegation - who is liable and how will existing delegation structures be affected
  • how to structure operations post AIFMD, including the transitional period
  • cross border marketing and third country funds

This seminar is intended for all firms involved with "Alternative" investment funds including AIF managers and other firms involved in providing services to, investing in and/or marketing AIFs such as banks, investment managers, insurance companies and investment advisers. It is relevant for legal counsel, compliance, risk and the business side at these firms.
