Latest Developments in Standards, Patents and FRAND Licensing

The CMS international IP and Competition teams have contributed the chapter "Standards Setting, competition law and FRAND licensing" to the new book by Globe Law & Business, 'Intellectual Property in Electronics and Software', which will be published in July.

To mark the launch of this publication, we are pleased to invite you to a seminar where you will hear about the latest developments in this field from expert speakers.

• The latest EU regulatory viewpoint from Thomas Kramler, European Commission DG Comp - deputy head of unit responsible for cases in the information industries, internet and consumer electronics sectors.
• James Flynn QC, who will address the role of the Court in determining FRAND licence terms. James is a competition law specialist who has been involved in high profile disputes including IPCom -v- Nokia.

In addition, Dr Markus Deck of CMS Dusseldorf will discuss the latest developments in the Orange Book defence, including the reference to the CoJ in the Huawei -v- ZTE litigation. We will also compare the position in other countries.
