Technology is ever-present in all our lives. Its constant use has been normalised – from toddlers, teens locked in their rooms and adults with their heads buried in phones on the tube and at social engagements. At what point do we risk crossing the fine line from general use to problematic use? This session, led by Professor Marcantonio M. Spada, a leading expert in addictive behaviours, will: outline how to identify tell-tale signs of unhelpful and addictive use; review the impact of unhelpful technological use on physical and mental functioning; and offer tips on achieving more balanced and sustainable use.
