Assessment
The Commission identified two products markets: one comprising light commercial trucks up to 3.5 tons, and the other comprising heavier trucks over 3.5 tons. It cleared the operation. Even according to the narrowest product definition, the combined market shares of the parties would not exceed 30% and the increase would be negligible (less than 0.5%). Moreover, on the relevant geographic market (France), several strong competitors are present and the market is in constant growth. Finally, the vertical integration of the parties would not affect the competitive structure of the market due to the presence of other competitors also vertically integrated.
