CMS advises Pragmatic Group on historic partnership with DAZN Group

21 April 2022

International law firm CMS has advised Pragmatic Solutions and Pragmatic Play ("Pragmatic Group") in relation to its exclusive multi-year partnership with DAZN Group, a leading sports entertainment business, that will see the launch of a next generation betting product for sports fans.

Pragmatic Group is a leading platform technology and content provider for the betting and gaming industry.

Under this agreement, a new business headquartered in Gibraltar will launch and operate a new betting service under the DAZN BET brand. Pragmatic Group will supply the underlying platform and content and be responsible for the ongoing product development. The new service has been developed to meet the trend towards recreational in-house betting, providing an interactive experience for casual betters to enjoy alongside DAZN’s live sports streaming.

CMS Corporate partner, Rob Willis, who led on the deal alongside Commercial and Gambling Regulatory partner Anna Soilleux-Mills, comments: “We are pleased to have supported Pragmatic Group on this landmark partnership which will deliver an integrated and immersive sports viewing and betting experience for customers.”

Rob and Anna were supported by a CMS team consisting of Joel Vertes and Abigail Ash (IP); Alasdair Lamb (Commercial and Gambling Regulatory); Sam Pout and Philip Walton (Corporate); and Stephen Hignett and Robert Sartor (Tax).
