Caroline Hall is Of Counsel practising for 9 years, all with CMS, in the field of professional negligence, principally in claims involving financial services professionals and, separately, in construction disputes. Caroline has defended a variety of complaints at the Financial Ombudsman Service and advised on the prospects of judicially reviewing the FOS‘ decisions and process. She acted for the successful IFA in the Court of Appeal case of In Focus v Clarke regarding the extent of the FOS‘ jurisdiction. She also deals with pension-based complaints, handling complex SSAS and SIPP disputes at the Pension Ombudsman and in Court. She has a particular interest in tax issues arising and has given training and external presentations on her experience. Caroline also regularly acts for construction professionals, particularly engineers and architects and their Professional Indemnity insurers and has considerable experience of claims relating to roof failure, marine structures, foundations, and car parks. She has dealt with a number of adjudications and successfully run litigation as both claimant and defendant.
