International law firm CMS has advised leading infrastructure and SME investment manager Foresight Group on its follow on investment into Lightning Fibre, a community minded and full fibre network operator and provider based in Eastbourne, East Sussex.
Founded in 1984, Foresight has an established track record in sustainable infrastructure, real assets and SME investing, delivering financial returns while making a positive contribution to the regions in which it operates. With this additional investment, Lightning Fibre is planning to expand its network to West Sussex and Kent and increase its headcount.
CMS Partner and Co-Head of the CMS Consumer Products Group Katie Nagy de Nagybaczon comments: “We are delighted to have advised Foresight on this latest investment in Lightning Fibre. Foresight is supporting the rollout of faster and more reliable broadband, and we look forward to continuing to support them in their strategy.”
This is the third fibre investment that CMS has advised Foresight on. Earlier this year the team supported Foresight on its investment in Cambridgeshire-based Connect Fibre, having also supported Foresight on its original investment in Lightning Fibre in 2020.
The CMS team was led by Katie Nagy de Nagybaczon, with support from Caroline Walker and Rashmi Varkey (Corporate) and Anne Chitan and Paula Hryckowiak (Finance).
